Uniform Policy

Pursuant to the rules of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Rockway Elementary School has met the requirements of the mandatory school uniform policy. Therefore, all students are required to wear the approved uniform, which has been selected by the school uniform committee. Students are to be dressed in uniforms every day to be in compliance with the dress code. The following combinations are required:
Navy pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers or skorts. Uniform shirts with school logo is to be worn in: white, light blue, and/or red.

Student attendance is a means of improving student performance and critical in raising student achievement. Together, the staff of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, students, parents and the community must make every effort to lessen the loss of instructional time to students.

  1. In bed (sleeping by 9 PM).
  2. Have a healthy breakfast because food feeds the brain.
  3. Don’t be nervous. “YOU ARE READY!”
  4. Read questions very carefully.
  5. Underline words like “SAME, DIFFERENCE, HOW MANY MORE, HOW MANY FEWER, HOW MANY LESS, TOTAL, IN ALL.”
  6. Write margin notes.
  7. Notice attention text features such as pictures, diagrams, charts, captions and text boxes.
  8. Eliminate Outliers and Wrong Answers.
  9. Fill in the bubbles carefully and watch for stray marks.
  10. DO NOT leave any answers blank.
